Message 1. trim out the old harness/disconnect the fat white connector just above the blue ECU connector
2. remove the foam donut where the EFI harness goes through the firewall
3. use a long extension or something to roll out the lower lip of the hold in the firewall to make more room, make sure to get the insulation thing behind it too.
4. remove the plastic shielding on the ECU connector on the new EFI harness.
5. remove the big tab on the ECU connector that serves no purpose now that the plastic shielding is removed
6. fold the wire going to the fat white connector in half, electric tape the wire & fat white conector to the trunk of the EFI harness... make sure the connector is pointing 'backwards' from the ECU connector (thanks Kaz!). make it as flat to the trunk as possible.
7. do not start threading the harness from the hole in the firewall. start it over by the brake booster where it goes BEHIND the brake/clutch tubing. it's easier to pull the ECU connector through then stuffing all the other crap back through there if you start at the firewall hole.
8. push the ECU connector through the firewall, pull from the inside. make sure the fat white connector goes in smoothly as to not snag on anything. This is the trickiest part. sometimes I have to use a socket extention to push the connectors through, or a coathanger on the inside to pull. Sometimes a 3 year old could pull it though... sometimes it's a complete PITA.
9. pull it to the grommet and then some. this gets enough clearance to unwrap the fat white connector
10. the fat white connector connects ABOVE the overflow tube.
11. hammer the lip back in plane with the rest of the firewall
12. stuff in the grommet to seal it
13. install all the clamps & crap
14. connect everything with dielectric grease except the ECU & fat white connector (interior bits generally don't need it)
15. do a wheelie.

lil-abner: I accept your apology in advance.
